Ekemini Uwan

Ekemini Uwan (pronounced Eh-keh-mi-knee Oo-wan) is a public theologian, international human rights activist, and co-author of the 2023 NAACP Image Award Nominated book Truth’s Table: Black Women’s Musings on Life, Love, and Liberation.  She co-hosts the award-winning podcast Truth's Table and Get In The Word With Truth’s Table. Uwan is a 2022 Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow, 2023 and 2024 fellow at The Aspen Institute. She serves as a Special Advisor for The Aspen Institute’s Racial Justice and Religion Collective. In addition to being an NAACP Image Award Nominated Author for Outstanding Literary Work, Ekemini is also a contributing writer for Hallmark Mahogany and a charter member of The International Civil Working Group of the Permanent Forum for People of African Descent at the United Nations.
